The personal information that we hold from you supplied by yourself or your advocate on your Consultation Form, including medical information and the notes that are written up on an ongoing basis after each treatment, to document your treatment, along with any other relevant information, is a necessary part of your treatment, to enable us to take your physical, mental and emotional health into consideration and give you a safe treatment, taking your needs fully into account.
We assess and audit our privacy practices accordingly. Your information is stored & processed as a hardcopy paper format only, in a secure filing system that no-one else but us has access to. In the event that we need to contact you by email for the express purposes of communication about your treatment, our computer system & phone are protected by security measures to minimise risk of computer virus; should we need to call you via phone, your number shall be used for that call only and not stored in a contact list on our phone. The phone is password protected and can only be accessed by us.
The conditions of our professional liability insurance legally require us to retain client records for a specific period of time, being 10 years following our last date of contact.
Your records are accessed by ourselves in line with your treatment only. Where you may be contacted for marketing purposes by us, a separate consent for this purpose will be gained first, where you would be given the opportunity to ‘opt-in’ for this type of ongoing marketing communication.
