Please see my COVID-19 Policy which details some of the essential changes to my working practices that I've implemented and details of the additional specialist Infection Control training I've undertaken. I have carried out a full, enhanced risk assessment, which will be reviewed and updated where necessary, in line with guidance from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). You'll find this and more information in the Qualifications section of my website.

A little bit about me...

I have been an Holistic Massage Therapist & Aromatherapist since qualifying in 1997 and Reiki Practitioner since 2000 and during this time have worked with many different client groups, from restless babies with colic, teenagers with body dysmorphia to adults with anxiety & depression, bereavement, chronic back problems, arthritis and many more conditions and complex issues.

I offer Aromatherapy, Holistic Massage and Reiki Treatments in the comfort of your own home, within a 20 mile radius of Exeter, Devon.

I specialise in providing Therapeutic Massage, Aromatherapy and Reiki to the Elderly, those living with Dementia, Cancer and Special & Complex Needs, in a care home setting or clients' own homes.

Dementia is a condition very close to my heart as my Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's thirteen years ago. I cared for her full-time at home for over 2 years until her condition became advanced to the point where she needed more specialist 24 hour care in a nursing home, where she is happy and settled. I feel that this has given me a good understanding from a personal viewpoint as well as a professional one of the ongoing process and transition that each person may face on their own unique dementia journey.

It is so very important to be with each person empathically in their own version of their world.

I love my work and feel it is an immense honour to share time with my clients, to hold their hands and look into their eyes, knowing that they would have held and seen so many things in their lifetime, to stand with them in the moment wherever they are on their life journey.

It has been while doing my work that I have realised that we can never underestimate the impact that we can have on others. The positive power of nurturing touch that these treatments can have on an individual’s physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing, is truly a wonderful thing.

You'll find more information about my qualifications, the therapies themselves, how I work and my privacy policy on my website but there's no substitute for some human interaction, I'd love to speak with you by phone or email. So whatever your needs, or to get more information and find out more, please feel free to call me on

COVID-19 POLICY

This policy outlines some of the key measures I have taken to reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus (COVID-19). Please note the content may be subject to change, as the government and other relevant bodies update and revise guidelines.

ADHERING TO GUIDELINES

Throughout the pandemic, I will be following guidelines issued by the government, NHS, other relevant authorities and my professional association, the Federation of Holistic Therapists, regarding safe and hygienic practice and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), which, subject to change and individual circumstance, may include a single use disposable apron, water resistant surgical face mask, face visor, single use disposable gloves. I have also undertaken supplementary training and gained qualification & certification for the following courses, accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists: Control of Cross-infection in a Post-COVID-19 World; and Covid-19 Certification - The Health, Safety & Hygiene - Returning to Work COVID-19 Course. I have also completed the SCIE, Social Care Institute for Excellence (produced by HCI & SCIE funded by Dep't of Health & Social Care) Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Course for care providers.

COVID-19 ENHANCED RISK ASSESSMENT

I have carried out a full risk assessment, which will be reviewed and updated where necessary, in line with guidance from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), in order to:

  • identify the processes, hazards and my work activities or situations which might cause transmission of the virus;

  • identify who could be at risk and how;

  • look at existing controls and enhanced required measures & actions to control the risks;

  • act to remove the activity or situation, or if this isn’t possible, control the risk.

HEALTH SCREENING

Prior to seeing any of my clients, I will be:

  • monitoring my own health, e.g. taking my temperature and checking for symptoms of illness. I will defer treatments if I have COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 or am otherwise unwell.

  • I will be deferring any treatments if: clients have COVID-19 or symptoms of COVID-19.

  • I ask that my clients, or their advocates, notify me and cancel/defer treatment 24 hours before their appointment if they have a temperature or other symptoms of COVID-19.

ENHANCED HYGIENE AND CLEANING MEASURES

I have introduced enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures throughout my work practices and between clients, which includes thoroughly washing and disinfecting any and all non-porous surfaces and therapy equipment, in line with current government guidelines, replacing single-use items and only using those items strictly necessary for treatment. Strict personal hygiene measures will also be adhered to, including regular hand-washing/ sanitising. Safe donning, use, doffing and disposal of PPE.

ADAPTING OR RESTRICTING TREATMENTS

It may be necessary for me to adapt or restrict certain treatments, in order to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and/or protect my clients’ health and safety. Any clients likely to be impacted will be advised as soon as possible.

MAINTAINING SOCIAL DISTANCE

Please note that while many treatments involve close contact, I will be observing social distancing measures wherever possible and adapting treatment positioning where possible. An appropriate distance will be maintained during the consultation process, and when arriving and leaving for an appointment and around others in the work environment.

CANCELLATIONS POLICY

If a treatment is cancelled or deferred at short notice because my client has COVID-19 or has symptoms of COVID-19, any standard cancellation fees will be waivered at this time.

I am happy to be contacted to discuss any aspect of the treatment process.
